We’ve all caught ourselves sitting around on a Sunday nursing an alcohol induced hangover. With such tradition comes another, shoving pizza down our throats between sips of our favorite energy drink, while telling ourselves that yesterday night will be the last time we ever put our lips to an alcohol filled beverage again! The Liver Bashers have definitely felt this pain one too many times, unfortunately we are not alone as this seems to be the regular happening for the average socialite in New York City. This is certainly no way to end your weekend though, unless your betting on the football game while eating hot wings with Victorias Secret models in between half nude pillow fights! Sounds ridiculous but anything is possible in New York, if you can get yourself off the couch and out of your stained shirt and sweatpants.
As many New Yorkers know, Sundays nights are known to be the one of the best nights to be out and about mingling with models, throwing back a few glasses of champagne, celebrity spotting and even the occasional one night stand (so we’ve heard). The first Sunday of every month The Standard hotel, conveniently located in the Meatpacking district, hosts a music, dance and booze induced bingo night. A night unlike that of your grandparents at the senior home getting their diapers changed wondering what color jello is on the menu.
The Standard Hotel’s bingo night is where you’ll find models and celebrities alike. Not only do you get to meet beautiful people, you can also win prizes like tickets to the Yankee game and magnums of Krug to gloat about. Now all those nights of practice on www.partybingo.com can be put to use and impress some of those aphrodite like women surrounding your bingo table watching you win it all. For more information on bingo night check here: The Standard hotel
Liver Bashers are not just Drunkards we also support the arts. “Tuesday May 29, 2012 at White Box in the Lower East Side there will a one night event will benefit Young New York (YNY), an art focused social justice program working with 16 and 17 year olds who, legally classified as adults, have been thrown into New York State’s adult criminal justice system.” If you are in the area you should stop on by.

Subway Inn, a dive bar and the last of a dying breed. Cheap beer and cocktails are always a good reason to stop in, but the truth is it’s hard to find a good dive in New York and this is one of them…..

NY Craft Beer week is back and begins Sept. 16 and goes thru Sept. 25. Be on the look out for special events throughout the Five Boroughs at participating bars and restaurants. Check out NYBeerWeek.com to find out where some of these events might be taken place and what Breweries will be participating during the week, also be on the look out for the new Brewers on the block The Bronx Brewery and their flagship beer The Bronx Pale Ale which can be found in select bars in NY already and who knows you might even run into the Bashers at an event where we will be doing what we do best.

Below are an array of random things that have ended up in my hand by accident, shear stupidity or because it was damn good. Enjoy!
Because of the Prohibition in the early 1900s all the Breweries that were in The Bronx closed. Now almost 80 years later two Breweries are bringing The Beer back to The Bronx. The Bronx Brewery located in the South Bronx and Jonas Bronck’s Beer Co. Both breweries are not actually brewing beer in the Bronx yet, but plan to in the near future. The Bashers went to meet with the Co-owners of The Bronx Brewery to discuss possible future events with each other and they gave us a tour of their soon to be fully operational brewery. You can expect good things to come from the team at The Bronx Brewery who is looking to have their flagship beer The Bronx Pale Ale in your hands soon. You can find Jonas Bronck’s Beer Co. Woodlawn Weiss in a few places in New York already. Check out Beer Menus to find out where.
